fuel cut or loss of boost? one for the technical guys.

On four occasions now under acceleration my car has loss power.

Every time it happened i was on the motorway cruising along the when accelerating to overtake and the like the boost hits 1bar and there is a vilant loss of power the boost drops off and then its ok again.

It feels like the ecu is cutting the fuel, other than these four occoins the car drives perfect. I've done a 6 hour round trip today and it drove beautiful apart from when this fault happened twice.

Any idea's what this could be?


I like the sound of the RR day but i don't see the point if this happens when the car is taken to full boost. I think i need a diagnostic run rather than a power run.

It sounds like you are getting fuel cut, clean out the boost control solenoid and pipes connected to it with some brake cleaner.
when you have done this reset the ecu (easy way is to disconnect the battery for 20 mins)

This should solve the problem.
