| The day before SSO the FOZ spat all its water into the over flow bottle after a lesurely 100mile drive. I drained the system & bled it through, thought it may have been an air lock since i'd fitted a new stat not long ago, went to SSO & clapped out 20mile from home on the way back temp gauge on the Red & no water left in it, eventually got home around 9pm. I found a small hole in the header to turbo coolant pipe which couldn't have been doing any good so changed it, also thought maybe the spring had gone on the header tank, so that it was collapsing under the slightest pressure & letting the water into the overflow, bled the system again & took it out for a very slow run out, now i'm getting smoke which smells oilly/petrol, in the overflow tank, & you can feel the air coming out of the pipe when you put you finger over it. ANy ideas, Would bring it to the meet tonight but don't want to be standed if it claps out again. | |

| if they expansion (overflow bottle) is keep filling up and not getting drawn back into cooling system its almost dofo the head gaskets, be very careful not to cook it as they can take crank out at same time, not tryin to alarm you just be very carefull bud

| quick up date, it was suggest to me to use K-Seal which apperently can fix cracked gaskets, so for the sake of £8, i thought why not. After 20mins smoke in the overflow had stopped & the plumes of smoke from the exhaust had stopped, did another sniff test & all was fine. So looking good for the time being. I only intend this to be a short term solution, but will buy me some time to get the money together to replace the gaskets my self & a bit help from agood mate. | |
