Is there much difference between tesco 99 and v-power, my car was mapped on v-power and have only ever used v-power since I bought it but was just wondering as they have just opened a new tesco store about 800 meters from where I live and would be easier going there instead of 11 miles to the nearest shell garage if it would be ok to use

Both claim 99 ron so it should be fine if it is what it says it is.

Do you run a knocklink/ks3???

No don't have knocklink/ks3 so should tesco 99 be ok, not exactly running big power only about 280-290 bhp

If Duncan did the map it should be fine as he is sensible with the timing, I would drop him a PM though as only he will know how close he pushed it.

I ran with tesco 99 for a few week during the last v-power shortage.

If anything my car felt better with tesco 99 :-) no sign of knock at all on my Apexi PFC.

Shame the tesco is miles away compared to shell stations.

I've never put BP Ultimate in my car ever it's lower octane than v-power and tesco 99 and normally more expensive, have always travelled further to find a shell station, but am now using Tesco Momentum 99 as the new Bish Tesco is right on my doorstep and car seems to run fine on it.

Just been to fill up at the new Tesco in bish today. Its 3p a litre cheaper than V-power, so we will see how good it is.

tesco 99 is not as good as v power, ive tried several times with same results, although its the closest to v power yal get, shell v power is rated at 99.6 typical, 99.2 minimum

V-power is refined to 99ron, Tesco 99/Momentum is Regular Unleaded pimped up with Methanol to a supposed 99Ron. As Andy says, V-Power is a superior fuel but mainly as youre guaranteed to get a pure 99+Ron

Well Ive got to say that my car seems to be lapping it up, albeit I wasnt running V Power before, mine was mapped on Ultimate, more for convenience than anything else. But I think next time Andy Carr is across here I'll be getting a little tweak to take best advantage of this.
