| Hey Carlos, Pretty good idea - folk should say what methods are best to use for great show results.
I am not that clued up on show & shine. I just machine polish my cars with G3 compound as soon as I get them then use a few coats of Meguiars Gold Class and finish off with a coat of Meguiars Tech Wax to bring on the shine along with Meguiars Endurance Gel for the tyres & plastics. For the interior plastics I just use Autoglym Bumper Care.
Might have a go with a clay bar as summer gets closer as my car got loads of tiny white paint spots on it while sitting waiting at the docks in Japan due to a nearby ship being painted - nightmare to get the worst of it off - not much to go now.

| I just bought a variable speed large sort of 9" grinder size mop motor, Farcela polishing mops of various grades and some Farcela G3 compound all from Autopanels of Birtley.
I practiced on an old red (read Pink) MX3 that I bought for the wife and came up brilliant apart from one part of the rear bumper where I rubbed right through the paint. I then got told by a mate at a bodyshop that the car must be wet to be cut back. Tried it on my E36 M3 a few weeks later and it came up like new, done quite a few of my cars since then and fairly getting used to it.
You should try it but I would practice on the Clio(thinks thats what your runaround is) first before attempting your pride & joy.

| I'd quite like a detailing section . Good to get ideas and tips from . Also wouldn't mind a Garage section too as I like to be able to keep a record of what mods I've done and see what other people have done too. | |

| Does the project section cover for your garage section? It's not just for Pitchy's, it's for everyones it just was better to have a name |

The project section isn't quite what I had in mind. Do you remember the Garage section that the old TTS site had? I also think that Scoobynet has something along those lines too but is accessed as part of your profile?

| The garage section is a good idea, what mods the car has, and also what power it's kicking out. not sure how hard that would be to set up like, but if you click on the users name it takes you to there little garage Detailing section sounds good, not sure if Robbieben would be intrested on joining, could put up some how too's, or possibly contact polished bliss see if they'd be interested as they where on a couple of old forums I went on | |

| The forum (being free) garage section isn't really something we can add for each member but I'm sure we could have a seperate forum if enough people want it. Garage sections are on some sites and there are negatives in addition to the positives as some groups have had several thefts of cars and parts since adding a garage section.
The forum you have to remember is new, under a month old, we didn't want it being too complicated as some other sites are so we stuck with the basic then go with what the majority of members want for additional things
Poll was added for you carlos, we'll see what the members think

| One of the 'cruise' sites up here added a gallery/garage section. Within a month there was several cars stolen and many more broken into. Following people home from meets isn't difficult if they have something you want on the car! Having a gallery/list gives them every opportunity to try before they 'TWOK' at getting prices online for alloys, sound systems ..... even an exhaust was stolen from at least one.
It's the other reason I always recommend people remove reg numbers and don't photograph cars on their drive if it's easy to recognise where it is. It's a shame but when you have an open forum, not everyone who can look is honest. People have had reg numbers copied and someone use them on cars who have had it displayed on a forum/website.
Not trying to make people feel paranoid......just there are some nasty ****ers out there who'd rather steal your pride and joy than by one |

| I think a detailing section would be a great idea i.e little tricks to get a good shine or get rid of blemishes etc.... dont think it would go under the garage side of the forum tho. And lil me's right about the twok side of life to | |

| Im happy to go with the majority, with regards to the garage section. But still think it would be a good idea, especially if encorporated in to the project section. | |

Ive got a few questions and I'm not sure where to post. Ive just bought a Karcher and wanted some advice on do's and dont's, lances, snow foam, mixture ratio's etc before I destroy the wafer scooby thin paint on the red marauder.

| Top reply sir and dont delay. My new toy (karcher) is arriving today and I have the dumb potential to do much damage in a short space of time, if I remain uneducated. | |
