does a aftermarket double din head unit require a diffrent cage or can you use the one off the old head unit ?

I had to take my OEM one out and use the one supplied with the head unit (JVC) due to the locking mechanism on the head unit.

As Andy says though you can get away with the standard one with most aftermarket head units.
