| Well, my annual trip to my mums on the isle of skye for new year has proven how fast and thirsty my new car is. topped up at perth and only made it to Portree on the island before the light came on! mind you, I was going slightly quickly! might have to take some time on the way back, as I think the fuel has gone up again, and it was at £1.30 for 95ron on the island yesterday. eek Any good tips for fuel saving when i dont want to hammer it? | |

| Keep it under 4k revs and only use light throttle, no hard braking or accelerating.
What model have you got?

| Save more money The Road from Callander to Skye is fantastic as i go to Skye most years on my bike, Have fun whilst you can. If not like Johnny says keep it off boost, The Shell garage in The Kyle of Lockalsh should sell you some V-power aswell | |

What model have you got? Hawkeye WRX ppp. They are brilliant roads up here. I do the journey about 4 or 5 times a year. Came close to my record. 5hrs 38 including fuel and mcdonalds stop half way! Pretty good going considering the time of the year. The car is so damn fast. I can't imagine what a tuned or even an sti would be like! I thought I had a fuel leak it was going down that quickly! Ha ha Take my time tomorrow on the way back I think!

| Cracking part of the world, actually spent our honeymoon there just to be different Nov '07. Couple of nights in the Bosville up in Portree then a couple of nights in Kinloch Lodge. Drove the whole island and spent a fortune at Talisker distillery. Needless to say we took the Audi TDI rather than the Scoob, but I'd have loved to do that journey in my car.
For what its worth, I regularly get 300 miles on a long journey, averaging **-**+ on the M'ways and can manage something close to that around the doors from Bish to Spenny to Darlo and back (sometimes the same speeds but dont broadcast it) with a bit of sensible driving thrown in for good measure and my car is not exactly what you'd call standard.

| The bosville? My brother is the head chef there. Ha ha amazing roads up there. Set a new record between portree and uig when i was there! I won't tell you the time or speed as it might incriminate me! Managed a much more respectable mpg on my way home. Partly due to traffic and partly due to not thrashing it! 20.46 during the twisty bits isn't too bad!!! | |

I think its time to get a diesel
