Chaps

Ive just been reading BigG_wrx's tale of woe with regards to his car and noticed Peril's shout about the method of recovery (front wheel hoist, instead of 4 wheel or flatbed) https://nesf.forumotion.co.uk/t3810-my-poorly-scoob#30011

Has anbody had the experience of having this debate with a recovery company and got them to go away and get the right equipment ?

I'm just curious with regards to your rights if faced with this situation.

my pal had it with his cosworth but informed them on the phone when reporting the breakdown that a flatbed would be needed.

It is common practice for the AA/RAC/GREENFLAG etc... to send the wrong equipment even if you tell them you specifically need a flatbed for a 4 wheel drive car.

God knows why!

Can also confirm that recovery with a spectacle lift like the on in the other thread DOES damage the centre diff.

Marvelous!! Is that regardless of distance travelled?
Looks like I'm gonna be needing an independent specialist to give it the once over.

Even if it was just a mile, its still put wear on it that it wouldnt have been subjected to otherwise. I'd be claiming for a new one myself. Then just blag you cant get one without the box and price a 6spd Razz haha

yes ur correct, but a doubt the AA/RAC/ ETC would go to the hassle ov removing the propshaft, a no its a easy job for someone who works on subarus everyday, but ya everyday AA man wouldnt want to do it

ps. AA doesnt stand for what ur mate nars it as drunken drunken
