| Chaps, I'm sliding about on the slippery slope that is modifications. Only a week or so after my greer arranged, andy carr remap, I'm already thinking about the next step ("aarrgh the voices, the voices")
The car is standard apart from the lovely milltek / tsl decat system (you were all correct, decat is best), so I'm looking at the turbo next.
Question : Is there any point in me going for a TD05 turbo over the TD04 that my car will have as standard ?
There seems to be a big jump is prices from a TD05 to anything else.
I'd love to take Gipa's hand off for the one he's selling but I dont have the funds right now so need to compromise (I know, I hate that word too) | |

| a td05 is a top entry turbo, they were only fitted to pre96 cars, they can be converted but good ones are getting harder to come by as they are 15years + in age, imo fit a vf turbo | |

| Thanks for that Andy, I had no idea. Stupidly I thought the TD05 might have been brought out as an upgrade to the TD04 from 2004 onwards. Wrong again, not for a change . Any advice in that case - I can probably rustle up about £150 to £200 for something suitable. Ive got to consider I'll no doubt have to change other things to match up with it like injectors etc ? (probably wrong again.....again ) | |

| Keith, as Andy says you would be better getting the stuff from an STI a VF35 or VF43 turbo (£250 - £400) with 550cc Pink Injectors (£100-£150) and a STI Intercooler (loads on ebay around £200). That would get you some where near the 350 bhp mark. | |
