| Baldy and myself have been to Motorscope today to tag on the back of an R32 rolling road day. Had a canny day with some turbo r32's doing 460bhp + Anyway, my car did 371bhp and 376ft/lbs of torque and Baldy's did 325bhp and 262ft/lbs. Both of us were very happy I would like to say thanks to Duncan (racedynamix) for doing a great job of the mapping on my car and showing what my home brew TD05 18g can do | |

| Excellent power that Jonny. How come with an 18g been bigger than the VF series you only get more power and not torque? You are still running standard internals aren't you, would you say thats pushing them to the limits? | |

| The smaller VF turbos can't hold the boost all the way to the redline like a larger 18g or 20g can, that's why my car had 370ft/lbs and only 335bhp with the VF30 fitted.
Having a turbo that can flow enough air will give a 2.5 a matched torque and power figure.
As for is the engine on the limit, I personally wouldnt and won't be running any more than this, it's not just the pistons though, to get any more I will need to spent quite a bit of money, new injectors (mine are maxed out), clutch, front mount, larger turbo, 3" exhaust, larger air filter and of course pistons and head gaskets.
Not cheap! | |
