Squeaky back end.

My 02 Bug wagon has developed a creaky type squeak from the back end when going over speed humps and turning at low speed. Its worse from the offside. Is this likely to be the anti-roll bar bushes. If so how easy are they to sort.

Give all your rear bushes a squirt with WD40, do it one at a time until you find the squeaky one.

I tried the WD40 remedy. Still squeaked. Found a cure now though. Rock music played loud every where I go.

My previous Impreza had a squeaky back end too !

As has been said it's probably the bushes and in my experience , normally the anti roll bar bushes . They need to be removed , the bushes cleaned inside together with the area of the roll bar that the bush locates on , and the whole lot put back together lubricated with white grease . On my current Impreza I also wrapped some PTFE plumbers tape around the anti-roll bar before also applying the white grease .

Been squeak free so far .

Probably start squeaking tomorrow now ....
