a do mine all the time a just pop the bonnet and blast the fucker with engine running its been fine, a just watch the air filter

I do the same with mine, just jest wash the full engine with it running apart from air filter and it's always been fine and kept it nice and clean.

Champion wasnt sure wetha to cover the alternator or not a bought some degreaser frim halfords but a need to do it agen like get the toothbrush oot lol

i put a plastic bag over my alternator just to be safe. spray the whole engine with gunk engine degreaser and leave for 5 mins. i always take the car to a jet wash that has a foam brush attachment which seems to loosen the dirt more, then i blast it. works mint

Use tinfoil rather then plastic bags to protect the bits that matter
Always alternator and electric bits ,filter and especially alarm control and siren

must remember not to use the jet wash you go to, dont fancy covering my car in gunk
