| just reading into things to decide weather to do a rebuild of change the lump so having a little browse on ebay working a few prices out.
now i have used wiseco befor back in the day when i did motorcross and used them in a few 2 stroke road bikes. not sure what you guys think of them for the scoobs anyone used them or rate them well.
any other i should be looking into. if i rebuild it then im looking to have the range to go to 400bhp if i decided in the future

| 400-450 in a classic is more than enuff for a road car .
its not all about numbers...
IMO its all about selecting the correct turbo for quick spool up..
apparently cairns car spools up well ???
or was this just a case ov BAD driver in the other car ??

| lol seen the rb5 go and it was quick in a straight line never seen cairns's move tbh ide allready killed my baby uk turbo. well yeah 400 for me is well enough mate so i think ill be looking more into the 400 mark tops with nice quick spool up later in year getting a simtec fitted for antilag and a good map. then its just a case of sorting the handling out so it can corner and hold its own with the big boys on the twistys lol. after all unfortunalty in scoobys where constantly watched by the boys in blue waiting for us top go that little bit over the limits lmao.
im sure in the year im doing this you guys will give me the guidence lol
cheers in advance lads | |

| my advice is do it properly.
seen loads ov members do it in stages and cost them FORTUNES.
my advice is stick with proven turbos, and listen too people who have been there and done it...
hav u set urself a budget on engine build ?

| nope no budgets yet mate looking into the pricing and whats best for the power im aiming for. basicly going with the standard setup safe to get back on the roads then i can start and gather up the bits needed for the build. build up the engine complete with the turbo and ecu all going in at the same time over winter maybe so a long process and bound to throw a few grand into by time its done tbh. ide be happy if i can see it at 400bhp safe run by a simtec for 1800 but like thats going to happen lmao
bear in mind ill have the uk turbo pretty standard as it was before and rebuild another (number 2) engine up for the strong one so 2 engines in total one in the car other out the car getting built up so it can go in the car full ready for the remap

| as finn says 400 >>> 450 is good for a road car, mine is for track only, my first classic 15 years ago was 350 and that was good then, my last sti bug was a road car that was a tad over 500 of each and that was fun !! but sold that 4 years ago. | |

| yeah fin sounds like a nice power for roads which shudnt be too hard to get from a classic. carnt wait to get cracking with the research and collection of parts | |

seen loads ov members do it in stages and cost them FORTUNES. yep, I can vouch for that spent a fortune. All depends what power you want and what you really want. If it was me and I was doing it again, 2.5 engine, 14mm head studs, pinned bores, o ring heads, forge pistons (wossner), Carrillo rods, nitrade crank, RCM oil pump, cosworth or cometic head gaskets and all the other little bits
