PostSubject: boost issue   boost issue EmptySat 24 Jul - 18:24

I have sold my classic today and bought a 2001 bugeye, i was looking through the folder of reciepts and it says its remapped (ecutek) to 273 bhp with sti intercooler, full decat exhaust and panel filter also standard turbo, now the car is only boosting at 0.5 bar, my classic was 278bhp and that was running 1.45 bar.
I have a reciept for the remap and a dyno graph read out does anybody know why the boost is so low, the car drives very well just seems abit standard really.

Sounds like the car has gone into limp mode, this happens to protect the engine from damage, the ecu pulls timing and reduces boost to 0.5bar.

Get the fault codes checked and have it reset, if it was something like poor fuel that caused it to go into limp mode then everything will be fine, if not a code should show up with the fault.

Do you know what fuel it was mapped on?
If it was mapped on 99ron and you run it on 95ron it will cause this fault.

Thanks mate, no it doesnt say on the reciept what it was mapped to run on, so i am going to try and trace the previous owner so i can ask him, going to get the ecu rest tomorrow so hope this works Smile Smile
