| Not really put an update on here in a while...but that's not to say I haven't been doing stuff Went for my mapping session on 25th Feb with the new turbo & injectors fitted.....but never even made it out of the garage FFS!!! During the ECU write the connectivity to ECU failed due to a dodgy wire and became a brick. The ECU was unrecoverable so the car was pushed outside into a parking space. So I had to buy a new Alcatek ECU with ALS & Launch enabled and had the car transported to DLM in Darlington where Bob Rawle was mapping the following week on 5th March. The blessing with that was the MAF was no longer a limiting factor and he could just go for gold on the power. Well mapping started off all guns blazing with car running perfectly.....that is until we did the power runs to get the numbers. Acceleration was brutal until the car hit 1.5 bar of boost and the boost dropped to 0.8bar and it was losing power. Did 3 runs and the same issue. Pulled car over and checked it and it was the turbo inlet hose which was collapsing and getting sucked flat. Good news is Bob said that my engine is as sweet as a nut and that the car picks up extremely quickly. He said other cars may have more power, but they won't be nearly as quick - which was at least some consolation! So another shopping list has been ordered from the Dr Kindon Lateral Performance wire reinforced turbo inlet hose Oil catch tank (as the Lateral hose has no oil breather ports) K&N big daddy cone air filter to replace the standard air box & panel filter Carl Davey air diversion duct to replace the oem classic undertray and give max performance to the Hawkeye STI TMIC Remap booked soon and with that little lot Bob said it should easily see 440-450....fingers crossed!!! |

| fookin hell mate you're almost as lucky as I am. The run up to mapping was anything but plain sailing and then when mapping the turbo that was too small for the 2.0 Engine was too big for the 2.5 so had to hold back. Still fooking rapid but not where I want it, so new turbo coming soon I hope.
Glad you're kinda sorted though, how you running it now then? | |
