Tuffty on here has a VF35 for sale that would go on a treat. Should make 350ish with supporting mods on the 2.5. I got advised not to buy turbos that have come off older classics as they are getting on and have done many miles and there is no repair kit available for the bearings.

The 18g's aren't bad turbos at all, would add one to my hawkeye wrx if I could find a one at the right price.

The vf30/34/35/43/48 turbos are very good on the 2.5 engine too, a big improvement over the standard td04, I am running a vf30 on my 2006 2.5 wrx mapped by Duncan (dynamix) and I can't fault it to be honest. (338bhp/355lbs,ft) at the last rolling road day.

To be honest I would stay away from the tdo6/20g turbos supplied by one of our north east suppliers, they ave very slow spooling.

If you need more info on them contact GIPA on this forum, on his 2.0 he wasn't getting 1 bar until after 4300rpm, the last thing you want to do is loose the drivability of the car.

My mistake mate, I stand corrected, was it full boost at 4300???

I remember both my Andy Forrest genuine td05/20g's made full boost by 3200 on 2.0 engines and Semper's hawkeye made full boost by 3K, a guy called Tim that used to work for turboactive in hartlepool built that turbo and also the one used by Finn.

Both of those turbos made over 420bhp and spooled to 1 bar at or under 3k revs.

GIPA, think your turbo would be more suited to a forged 2.5, than a 2.0, are you going to be using it on your type r when it is finished?

Agree with the 18G. I have one fitted to my type R (recommended by Jonny). Still unsure what BHP the car is doing but hopefully will find out this year at our next RR day.
