a fitted new plugs and coil packs, and pointed out the crank pulley moving up and down like it was a yo-yo.

am also sure the same lad rang me a month later or for a price on doing the head gaskets

(am 98% sure it was the same lad)

yeah mate were going to check the pully out headgaskets must have been done then cos the whole engines fine mate ran well for a while until this. while its off road rossi will give it a look over for me im sure.

plugs where done within the last 6 month mate

if im correct the crank pull is the one at the bottom on the aux belt. well had a look and its not centred to the bolt. looks like the belt was tentioned then the pully tightened. any idea if this would make any difference at all in theory it would make it vibrate as it looks off centre to me

and gis a ring about 10 ish

the crank pulley is centred via a woodruff key, if its not straight the centre bolt must be loose

f sake man lol begining to get ready to scrap this think like. subarus grrrrr a was expecting bother like but not yet hahaha just once a month after it ran

sorted now picked it up from muzz so front panel is ready for next weekend to get some major progress started.
got a wing today too and picking up on friday a facelift bonnet and grille along with the bumper bar and rad .

another note spoke to previous owner and cambelt was done 500 mile ago so leaving that now also the crank was sorted so finn was spot on not that i douted his knoledge i was just sure it was fine. some good new

the airbox bit is the part on the outside of inner wing on the drivers side its white looks like a water bottle. the bumper strut is the red bit that was fook on the front front panel. had a good look and most of its gone to the rust mite lol.
ill have the mirror and drivers arch liner. do you have the bracket thats on the arch too. it bolts on in the engine bay ones bolt under the brack line thing think its abs. ill get some pics later when i go up to car mate

also what skirts are you two on about. who has what lol. it used to have the split ones on

I have some of the standard wrx side skirts is silver they are the split ones!

ok lads quick update

got all the parts collected now and in garage ready. hoping to get cracking with the welding and reffiting tommorow morning. bonnets back on and had to move the washer jet tubing to clear the strut brace as its well tight under there lol.

also just orderd up a 22b style vent for the pass side and a mini scoop for the dirvers side not a fan of the orginal vents plus gave them to rossi for his carbon fiber job

ok lads tiny bit of progress here as working lates so get no time by time i drag myself out of bed.
still havnt touched it with the grinder and welder so been doing abit of prepping and painting which i wish i never started as the bumper was a mess and needed alll the paint taking off as was flaking in places and ok in some so stripped it down
pass vent test fitted. needs abit of jiggling and adjusting to make it fit right as the bolts where stuck by a blind man so ripped them off and need to fiberglass them back on

well still no welding done as it was windy as hell on the other hand i did make porogress

so off up the garage i went to fit it like a kid with a new toy lol.

also while i was there i set about the sump. some people say you have to lift the engine ect but in my new experience it isnt the case i got all the bolts out minus 1 on each side and one on front as i hate leaving engines exposed. waiting for some of the sealant gear so i can whip it off and replace it with a quality second hand one i got from drew. cheers again bud.
hopefully going to get the welding done sat morning as its doing my head in now. also got to pop through to ne motor salavge and get myself some odd bolts as forgot where i put them during strippdown lol typical

what so you managed to remove the sump without lifting the engine at least 2 inches ??

if you have managed to do this can you post a pic ov the size ov your hands? LOL

because i carnt even get my finger between the subframe and sump.
never mind getting a tool in there and removing bolts .

yeah mate engine bolted well in and car on the floor mate lol
i used my small snapon gear with the long bar and short bar then the knuclke joint. bit of an arse on going in blind but i got there. the bolts stuck in the socket so that wasnt a problem lol
i do have small hands like skinny finegrs ect check the pic above with the scoop vent thats my hand mate. be fun gettin back on thou not looking forward to it but blue tack in the socket should sort some problems out.

question for you finn what seal do i need for the pickup pipe bit. ive got a full gasket set for aparently the bottom end will it be in there.
god knows where it came from but its what wasnt used after the woodruff key was changed. it even has a cork sumpgasket which we know you dont use lol

the pickup pipe has O ring seals mate

am shocked u managed t remove sump bolts without lifting engine

anyway good luck with refit lol

last one i did a removed bottom engine mount bolts and lifted engine 2 inches and put wooden wedges between mounts and subframe

tbh i took peoples word for it and assumed i would have to lift the engine but i decided what the fuk ide give it a shot and its a peice of piss tbh mate even with your fingers you could get it off. your tools are just too big lol i dusted off the womanly looking kit and that just say got in.

looks like a trip to subaru for the seals then as the new sump has none as nice and cleaned by drew
