| As above my mate has done an engine rebuild on his classic, put engine back in today and it won't fire, it turns over but no spark! Changed cam and crank sensor but still nothing, we got fuel but no spark any ideas lads?? | |

| what ecu has he used ?
jap or uk ?
and what version is it ? | |

| Not sure mate it's Swiss old car, it has a Prova ecu which I have told him to get shot off! | |

| so am guessing he has rebuilt the bottomend and refitted engine ??
and used swisses orginal wiring ecu, etc etc | |

| could be one ov many things..
best off checking all the wiring connectors
the big ones down near battery are prone too bending connectors or pushing out ov connector | |

| He double checked all connectors but nothing, engine turns over but it's not sparking, there is power to the ht leads but it seems there no pulse? | |

| has he plugged ecu check connectors in and see if ecu has any codes logged ? | |

| hard too tell without havin car infront ov me mate is fuel pump priming ? if its not it could be a alarm/immoboliser problem | |

| Getting spark from 2 packs abd other two are shite . Its getting fuel too. Hes tried map sensors ignitor pack ecu all from my uk turbo. Waitin to hear how he got on with my coil packs . Any other ideas lads. Earths and connectors all cleand and water free | |

| We have spark now on all 4 coils, still won't start! Compression checked and is fine, changed cam sensor, next thing to check is timing! Will keep use posted | |

| make sure if ur trying different ecu's in that u change the cam and crank pinouts on the ecu.
as jap and uk are different. | |

| Well we been on 3 hours tonite, timing spot on, spark on all 4, fuel ok, compression ok, but still won't start! We running out of ideas now! Any more ideas lads? | |

| just mad question but the plug lesds are on the right sequence had this on me mates car a while back turned over wouldnt fire. I went over to take a look found that his plug leads were in the wrong order i thought it would have fired and would just run lumpy put the order bak to the way it should have been and fired first time just a thought

| baldys old car done this once.
and after a few hours a found it was the petrol in it.
but u have already replaced the petrol havent you ???
on baldys i had 2 totally empty the petrol tank, then remove all the plugs and clean them and then crank it over without the plugs in.
when a put it back togetha with new petrol it went 1st click.
wen a checked the petrol out a found it had traces ov water in it. | |

| early classic ignition system(coilpacks) is pretty weak, ie its often the case that if its slightly flooded it wont start, take out all four plugs, crank the engine for 30 seconds with the crank sensor disconected, refiit plugs and it will be fine Andy | |
