Any Possible Upgrades For Std. MAP Sensor? Empty
PostSubject: Any Possible Upgrades For Std. MAP Sensor?   Any Possible Upgrades For Std. MAP Sensor? EmptyTue 19 Apr - 19:47

Alright folks,
I have now fitted my HDI boost controller and getting fuel cut at around 0.95 bar.

The Foz S/tb is supposed to have fuel cut coming in at 1.2 bar.

Is there any possible upgrades to the standard MAP sensor to raise my boost limits?

If I remove the pipe from my current MAP sensor and block it off I can get upto the 1.2 bar no problem so wondered if I have either a wrong or faulty MAP sensor and possiblity of being upgradeable.

Is your boost gauge reading right bud ?. Traceys Foz does 1.2bar all day.

Hey Mark,
Thats why I was thinking that I had a faulty MAP sensor as it boosts to 1.2 no problem when I disconnect it.
The JDM S/Tb and T/Tb has fuel cut set to just above 1.2 bar and I am getting nowhere near to that.

Mind you with the HDI boost controller - loving the Anti-Lag, just need to stop the fuel cut.

Did a bit of playing around today and just removed all piping to the factory boost solenoid and map sensor etc.
So now no boost cut as the factory boost control system is obselete.

So only pipes are Inlet Manifold to HDI Control Box, Compressor Housing To HDI Solenoid Port 3 and HDI Solenoid Port 2 To Actuator.

Low Setting is set to 0.5 bar, still boosts nice and the Mrs loves it, also wired in the switch on top of my shifter to the scramble mode so at the press of the switch it gives an additional 10% boost.

High Setting is currently set to 1.1 bar - and lets just say - wayhey!
One of the lads I know on SubaruForester.Com has an identical S/Tb and is running his at 1.25bar and is playing about with higher but I think that until I get the car to Motoscope & tested for DET etc 1.1bar will be good enough.

Not too bad for a currently unmappable car - and best of all the auto is set to run rich so no leaning out problems.
