personaly ive never used the exact torques on wheel nuts ever. i just give them a quick final press with my foot lol. never had a problem with them . i always fit them in the right order ie oposite nut to the previous one you fitted ect. also check them after a few mile

Usually 80 - 100Nm should see you OK bud.

Just wanting to put new lightweight wheel nuts on today but don't want to overtighten and maybe strip them.

ahh in this case go with the recomended torque. do they not come with the info for correct torque

I was told 80lbs but Alyn at AS told me 65lbs.

80lbs is about 110 Nm & 65lbs is about 90 Nm. So back to my original statement, about 80 - 100 Nm will be ok. I have light weight ally wheel nuts and mine are torques to 100 Nm.

subaru std is 72lbs for steel and alloy wheels
