PostSubject: newage mapping ?   newage mapping ? EmptyWed 8 Jun - 1:10

this one confused me?

so a thought a would ask the mappers on here or the lads who have spent alot ov time searching/googling ?

is it correct the newage jdm ecu's are more flexible/ can do more than the uk ones ????

the reason am asking is am fancying a newage and have been searching ebay and came across this blob jdm sti and after reading the advert a got confused??

carnt uk ecu's have the same features as the jdm ones ??

the advert= http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2003-Subaru-Impreza-STI-JDM-Massive-Spec-Bargain-/150615393826?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item2311608622

Hey Finn,
Not sure on the ECU, have you tried asking the mapper that he quotes - Andrew Carr:
http://www.scoobyteknixuk.com/andycarr.html

Must say - Fantastic spec car and best colour Cool

I am sure they are different mate, haven't had much to do with JDM newage cars as they are very rare but have seen it somewhere, will have a looksee.

The roms are different but the features he talks about being available on for JDM cars are only available for JDM cars on ecutek. They can be done OS on almost all UK spec cars.

The only difference effectively is the auto IC spray control functions do not exist within a UK ecu. not that that does anything anyway lol Smile

I wouldnt make a decision on what car to buy based on the ecu - pick the right one and the ecu can cope with whatever you need.

Finn, if you do want a word with Andy Carr, Ive got contact details for him. He's the guy who's done all the mapping on my car.
I know Ive no experience of any of the other guys, but I'd certainly recommend him based on what he's done for me so far
(and will do in the future Wink )
