TD05 16g and pink STi injectors will take you to the maximum you can go with a WRX around the 350bhp mark.. If you want to go higher your going to need to get your engine forged and a six speed box for that your looking at spending big big £££s

I spoke to mr gav about this and opted for the td05 16g spools up better ect, with the other usual mods should make 330/350 with good torque (when i get round to doing it!!)

Mr j will probs fill you in better but they spool up better, good thing about the 16g is it runs out if puff at 370bhp ish so your not risking your gearbox on a wrx

Byers A TD05 20g is a TD05 16g with a bigger compressor housing and wheel taken from a TD06. (The fan bit that spins round and blows cold air into the combustion chamber ) Therefore they can move more air and create much higher boost pressure than a standard 16g can.
Andyden you probably already have STi pink injectors and your vf35 will be maxed out at 330 BHP.. If you want to go over 350 without making your engine stronger first then your only going to have to pay to get it done anyway when it's fooked so its up to you when you get it done... Your also risking your gearbox as the 5 speed box is crap. If you wanted more than 350 you should of got yourself an STi

I'd say you need to think about how you want the car to perform. I changed from a standard TD04 to a VF30 which is a very well respected turbo but I always found I wanted the boost to come on earlier than it did....and my car couldnt exactly be described as "laggy". Importantly mine was an everyday drive not a toy.
In the end after several conversations, I got Jonny Gav to build me up a TD04 hybrid which would have been on a par with the VF30 from a Bhp point of view, but would have been lot more urgent. Unfortunately I never got the chance to fit it, but I'm certain the current owner would vouch for it.
Just another alternative to consider.

Mmmm sounds good mines a every day car and I do find the turbo takes a while to kick in and I woukd like it to kick it a lot quicker but still have good bhp.

The vf35 Is a very quick spooling turbo already.. What do you want boost on tickover ??

Apologies Byers, I got confused by Andys profile saying 330bhp. If that's correct then from what is usually written, he's not running a std TD04.

I think recall marshall looking for a vf35 for his car last year.. You might be better off asking people on TTS what he had done to it.. Sorry Jonny
