just a quick question
if u put a new backbox on a scooby does it smell like burning hair or is this something else . today i found going around sharp corners with accelerator pressed car cuts out gives a few pops then its just like pure boost any ideas what maybe causing this? Sad

i have heard of cars having to short a pipe in the fuel tank but its not this as i had over half a tank in there, also get a few pops from the induction kit.

PostSubject: Re: burning smell   burning smell EmptyThu 6 May - 11:08

I have just got exactly the same on my Foz.

Just went out for a drive while on holiday - got the same type of burning smell, stopped the car & searched everything - nothing alight or melting.

Thought the smell must have been from something I drove past.

Anyway a couple of hours later went out for a drive to the pub, pulled away from a junction - huge almost backfire/pop from the airbox.

Everything seems fine and car still drives perfectly.

Going to disconnect the battery for a few hours and hope that the sensor readings reset.
